Gas safety
LPG is safe when it's handled properly — and it announces a leak with a strong, unpleasant smell. If you notice it, do these four things immediately.
Emergency services: dial 10177 (fire & ambulance) or 112 from any cellphone. Once you're safe, let us know so we can check the installation.
Turn off the cylinder valve or the tank's supply valve — clockwise until it stops.
Open doors and windows. LPG is heavier than air, so it pools at floor level — sweep it out, don't fan it up.
Don't light anything, and don't switch electrical items on or off — a switch can spark.
Get everyone away from the area and call from a safe distance — emergency services first if the leak is serious.

We're a Johannesburg-based LPG distribution group supplying homes, restaurants, lodges, factories and farms — through a bottled-gas company for cylinders and a dedicated bulk-gas company for tanker deliveries and on-site tanks.
